On Saturday 11th October we, that is the PCC and the Heritage Society, celebrated the completion of the repairs to the church – the first stage of the plans for adapting it to 21st century needs.
To open the day the bell ringing team under the direction of Andrew Lubbock pulled off a quarter peal, following which the feast of glorious sound was continued by Matthew Bond playing our organ
The highlight of the afternoon was undoubtedly the by Dr Andrea Kirkham on our wall paintings including our angel discovered last November and plans for their conservation for the future. This attracted a surprisingly large and rapt audience and the degree of interest was demonstrated by the number of questions afterwards.
