This three part series is entitled “Medieval Lives: Birth, Marriage, Death” and presented by historian Helen Castor. In it is being featured the Paston family about whom she has written a book “Blood and Roses“, and each programme has shown some footage of St Margarets and surrounds.
Filming at Paston took place on a bitterly cold day back in March with an icy wind and sleet and even with all the heating on in the church Helen was wrapped up in warm clothes which she’d take off briefly to talk in front of the camera but you’d never guess seeing the opening of the programme filmed in the churchyard.
The series is on BBC4 at 9 pm on Wednesday 10th 16th and 23rd October. The first was on Wednesday 9th on birth; the second on 16th October on marriage; and finally, on 23rd October, death.
